Frequently Asked Questions - All FAQs
The AHA requires all students attending AHA certification courses to have a textbook before, during, and after their class. Due to this requirement, we verify that all students have a current textbook prior to beginning the class. You can purchase your textbook from us when you register for your class (either eBook or traditional textbook), or acquire a copy on your own from one of the AHA vendors. If you arrive for class and do not have a current textbook, you will be required to purchase one at that time or reschedule your class (a rescheduling fee applies.)
Both the Heartcode and Skills Session versions of our courses include the required skills portions (Part 2 and Part 3) of our AHA courses. The difference between the two is that the Heartcode course includes an access key for the Online Part I (Heartcode) portion of the class, and the Skills Session requires the student to obtain access to the Online Part I on their own.
The Update or Renewal versions of our AHA classes are for students who have a current (unexpired) AHA Provider card in the discipline they are looking to renew/update. If your provider card is expired by even a single day, you are required to attend the full new provider course. Students in our ACLS and PALS classes must also have a current AHA BLS Provider card prior to attending the ACLS or PALS course.
